     IN HER OWN WORDS

My favorite genre is Documentary. The year was 1997. I attended a screening at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, CA. I fell in love with documentaries after watching “4 Little Girls” by Spike Lee. It was historical, devastating and well crafted. I remember hearing the song in the opening sequence, “Birmingham Sunday” with tears in my eyes. It drew me into a melancholy wave of sadness yet eagerness to learn this important American story. A story I had never heard of.

I love Post Production! There is something magical about watching raw footage, listening to interviews and creating a non linear story. You get to know people without ever meeting them and create a story that will be viewed by an audience looking for a connection. Creating a story from scratch with “the eye of a tiger” is my superpower.
